Dr Yizhong Zheng is a Respiratory and Sleep Medicine specialist and clinician-researcher. He graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) under a full academic scholarship, and subsequently completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the same institution.
His academic and clinical research focuses on sleep medicine, respiratory failure and the impacts of obesity on sleep health, specifically obesity hypoventilation syndrome. His respiratory interests include chronic cough, pulmonary physiology and pulmonary embolism.
In addition to his research, Dr Zheng holds a staff specialist appointment at St George Hospital, where he is the departmental lead for Education and Pulmonary Physiology and serves as a conjoint lecturer at UNSW. Dr Zheng is happy to see patients across the entire spectrum of sleep and respiratory conditions.
