
The Sleep and Circadian Research Group at the Woolcock Institute are world leaders in their field, working to forge new ground in the understanding of the biology of sleep and the prevention and treatment of sleep disorders.
The Group is in a period of growth and is seeking suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join their team in casual and fixed term capacities (full-time or part-time) at a range of experience levels.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT: Minimum Requirements: undergraduate science or health qualification; hands on research experience in a clinical environment. Highly desirable: experience in sleep research; digital health interventions; clinical skills incl venepuncture/cannulation, ECG, EEG; diet and lifestyle interventions; administering cognitive assessments; ICH/GCP certificate; ethics and governance submissions. STUDY/CLINICAL TRIAL COORDINATOR (Junior and Senior): Minimum Requirements: undergraduate science or health qualification; 2+ years’ experience as a Research Assistant or Junior Study Coordinator in clinical research (Jnr position); 4+ years experience as a Clinical Trial Coordinator (Snr position). Highly desirable: previous experience in sleep research and/or sponsored clinical trials; clinical skills incl venepuncture/cannulation, ECG, EEG; ethics and governance procedures and recruitment methods; current ICH/GCP training. POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATE / PROJECT MANAGER: Minimum Requirements: postgraduate qualification in the field of sleep research or other highly relevant field e.g. cognition, neuroscience, ageing, digital health OR undergraduate science or health qualification and 2+ years managing large and/or complex clinical research project/s; experience managing complex research projects including management of staffing, operations, logistics, stakeholders, finances, milestone reporting. Highly desirable: experience with any of the following - high-density EEG; fNIRS; pupillometry; digital health interventions; physiological signal processing; expertise in MATLAB/python; statistical analysis. Hiring: Role 1: Full-time fixed term 2 years, treatment and management of obstructive sleep apnea studies; Role 2: part-time fixed term 2 years 0.6-0.8FTE, sleep, ageing and digital health studies. RESEARCH NURSE / CLINICAL ASSISTANT: Minimum Requirements: Nursing qualification or other relevant clinical qualification; expertise in clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation, ECG, vital signs. Highly desirable: track record in training others in clinical skills; previous experience in clinical sleep research. Hiring: Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) fixed term 12 months; casual. JUNIOR RESEARCH DIETITION: Minimum Requirements: Dietetics/Nutrition qualification; interest in clinical sleep research and in utilising dietetics skills in the context of OSA/Weight loss studies; proven track record in patient/participant engagement and ability to keep patients motivated. Highly desirable: experience in clinical research; experience managing patients on incretin therapy. Hiring: Full-time or part-time (minimum 0.6 FTE) fixed term 12 months. SENIOR ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT: Minimum Requirements: previous experience (minimum 2 years) as an Executive Assistant or in a similar role supporting senior executives or leadership; strong administrative and communication skills (oral and written); flexible, adaptive, a problem solver, high attention to detail. Highly desirable: EA/high-level administration experience in a research/medical environment; event management experience. Hiring: Full-time permanent. CONSUMER LIAISON OFFICER: Minimum Requirements: Demonstrated experience in consumer or community engagement; excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex research into plain language; high level of organisation, attention to detail and procedures. Highly desirable: strong qualitative research and/or evaluation skills; experience in health or research settings; experience facilitating focus groups or Delphi panel processes; familiarity with consumer involvement frameworks or ethical principles in research.
