Clinical Trials Coordinator (Jnr and Snr roles)

The Woolcock's Sleep and Circadian Research Group is a world leader, working to forge new ground in the understanding of the biology of sleep and the prevention and treatment of sleep disorders. The Group is seeking Clinical Trials Coordinators at various experience levels to work across multiple sleep research studies including ground-breaking narcolepsy, idiopathic hypersomnia, and sleep apnea / weight loss research protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and conduct clinical trial protocols in sleep research
  • Study document development and preparation including ethics and regulatory documentation, recruitment tracking, source document templates, etc. (in line with experience level)
  • Effective communication with and management of various stakeholders within the trial site and externally (e.g., doctors, trial sponsors, ethics committees, external trial vendors)
  • Participant recruitment, scheduling of participant visits, performing face-to-face and remote (telehealth) participant visits
  • Data collection, data entry and monitoring of data ensuring highest-level data integrity
  • More senior coordinators may be responsible for running weekly study meetings, creating research update reports, clinical trial finance management

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Medical Science or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Research Assistant or Junior Study Coordinator in clinical research (for Jnr positions); 4 years' experience as a Clinical Trials Coordinator (Snr positions)
  • Experience in a patient/participant facing role including clinical skills such as vital signs collection 
  • Knowledge of ICH GCP and other regulatory and ethical requirements for the conduct of clinical research in Australia
  • Proven high-level organisational, interpersonal, coordination and planning skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Clear understanding and management of participant and research confidentiality and data integrity
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional work hours including some early mornings / evenings

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in sleep clinical research
  • Experience in weight loss clinical research or in delivering weight loss lifestyle counselling in a clinical context
  • Experience in clinical skills such as ECG, venepuncture, cannulation
  • Experience in biological sample processing and shipping
  • Experience in conducting polysomnography/Sleep Technician skills
